Comics

Thu May 21, 2009, 6:40 PM
I've been making some comics. It feels good to get some of those thoughts off my chest- finally! :D

I like drawing in pencil, though I don't think I'll try using a black color pencil again. It seemed like a good idea for 'inking' but the effect looks like a crayon mark to me- I don't like it. Back to drawing! >->

I've usually drawn comics in pencil because I like the medium, though black colored pencil, I'm curious to what that is, is it like a layout pencil, because I have one of those I don't use much because I'm never pleased with the effect.

Oh I see. Usually the quality can be varied, especially concerning if the pen gets dry over time. If you want to use a smoother pen stroke, I suggest using Faber-Castells, they're acid-free and work rather well on any paper surface. They don't bleed either.

I've thought about using black prisma for 'inking' because fine-liners aren't varied enough for me; does it look better than a graphite pencil?

By the way, I like the style of your comics.

I think it's better than using a graphite pencil since that would smudge a lot and create a mess. I was inspired to use a color pencil by Mark Crilley since that is what he uses to 'ink' his comics. You can find his videos here- [link]

And glad you like how I draw my comics- it's a constant work in progress. ^^
